Is the fat burning zone an effective way to burn calories ?

Both the “fat burning” zone and the “cardio” zone are effective ways to burn calories.

In the “fat burning” zone, which is about 65%-73% of one’s max. heart rate,  a person burns the same amount of fat calories as in the cardio burning zone, which is 73% or more of one’s max. heart rate.

HERE IS THE MATH

When you are in the fat burning zone a moderately fit person will burn 220 calories per 30 minutes of exercise, 50% of those calories burned are fat calories (110 calories).

When this is compared to the cardio zone the same moderately fit person burns 330 calories per 30 minutes of exercise, 33% of those calories are fat calories (110 calories). The same amount of fat calories were burned in both case. The only difference is you burn more calories in the” cardio” zone.

Both the “fat burning” and the” cardio” zone are good. It just depends on what you want to achieve. If you have less time to work out then the cardio zone will work great for you. You burn high amount of calories but get tired sooner per 30 minutes of exercise.  If you have more time to work out then the “fat burning” zone will work great for you. you burn lower amounts of calories per 30 minutes of exercise  but you can last longer.

Essentially, it is all about creating  an overall calorie deficit. Don’t forget to leave a comment below and subscribe .
